The Eastern Fishermen's Federation was formed in1979 primarily to provide a voice for the many diverse fish harvester's organizations throughout the Maritime and Gulf regions. The Eastern Fishermen's Federation currently represents 22 organizations with a membership of more than 2100 fish harvesters.
Membership...
The EFF's membership is as diverse as they are independent. The objective of the Federation is to unite and inform member fishing organizations on issues of common interest.
Applications for membership are reviewed by a Committee who makes recommendations to the Board. Membership must be renewed annually.
The Federation has a staffed office to provide assistance to their members in regards to information on current industry issues. The EFF assists member organizations in strengthening themselves as it strives to keep all members well informed of changes that are rapidly affecting the fishing industry on a daily basis.

One of the greatest strengths of the Federation is its ability to bring fishermen from different regions together to discuss common issues.
The Federation's Board of Directors is comprised of a representative of each member association. The day to day operation of the Federation is handled by the Executive. Elected at the Annual Meeting in Marchh, the Executive consists of the President, Vice Presidents from the Gulf and Scotia Fundy, Secretary, Treasurer and Past President.
The Federation has a staffed office to provide assistance to their members through co-ordination of information on current industry issues.
